We have also a purpose to create a support system in the form of a community to reach out and connect practitioners to inspire one another while walking on the yoga path.

Founder

My alma mater is Mysore University and I used to teach English literature in Christ University, Bangalore for many years before I got disillusioned with the kind of contemporary education system. After leaving my teaching job, I went to Osho Meditation Resort to get acquainted with various techniques of meditation practice and to experience a global community life for a year. By a twist in the destiny while attending Kumbha Mela, one of the biggest gatherings of Hindu monks and Sadhus, I got initiated into a Naga Sadhu and lived with my guru at an ashram in Rishikesh leading a monastic life for few years. Again being disenchanted with the monastic life style, I left the ashram to live the wonderful life of a wandering monk, loafing around this magical country called India many years.

While wandering around, I learned bits and pieces of yoga from many teachers. I studied at Himalayan Iyengar Yoga Centre and Mahi Yoga Centre before I did my 200 hrs of Yoga Alliance certificate course at Shri Hari Yoga, Dharmashala. Now I’m 500-RYT and E-RYT 200, teaching at various teachers’ training courses since the last 8 years.

I specialized in philosophy, anatomy, meditation and Hatha practice

LOCATION

We’re located at Varkala in the state of Kerala, a picturesque temple town, nestled by the Arabian sea, an important pilgrim centre for the Hindus in South India. Varkala crowns off the Keralan cliffs about 20 miles north from the capital city Thiruvanthapuram and nearly 90 miles out of colonial-era fort city of Kochi.

Though it lacks anything uber-challenging, there is great vibes to this town with a string of long, cliff-backed pretty beaches that are colored a lovely mix of gold and ochre. The relatively consistent chest-high mellow swells of waves makes Varkala a suitable destination for surfing beginners. Our training centre is around 3 km away from the nearest railway station and an hour’s drive from the closest airport at the Trivandrum International Airport.
